Ego as mistaken identification

The ego is a case of mistaken identification.

The separation that it relies upon between (false) self and other is nothing more than a fragment or sliver of what's there to be experienced of the underlying fresh present awareness.

If you follow your breath it may be a way to slow down the automatic following of your thoughts.

What is available from fresh present awareness can solve every problem that you will get dealt but maybe not the in way you would expect it. You just have to know where to look.

The Mystery

If fresh present wakefulness is not an object of thought, then the space between thoughts cannot be accessed by thought. It is the fertile ground wherein lies the mystery.

One thing to Know

There are many things to do.

There is one thing to know and it is to know our own true nature.

Fresh present wakefulness. Recognize it, stabilize it, realize it (make it real).

The mind as a veil

Fresh presence is boundless. Therefore thought cannot contain it.

Thought pretends to take it over by appearing to overwrite what's there.

Awareness or non awareness? Thought is non-awareness. Awareness can contain non awareness. Thought is contained in awareness seamlessly.

The space between thoughts can be experienced as awareness. Emotions and concepts veil awareness.

Cling not

Fresh Presence isn't stale like yesterday's thoughts. In fact it isn't thought at all.

It is more like the space between thoughts.

Clinging obscures it. Concepts and emotions obscure it if you cling to them.

If there is not clinging, the thoughts become self liberating like a finger writing on water. If they don't stick, you are free of them.

Yesterday and tomorrow are out of fresh presence which resides in Now.

Fresh Present Wakefulness

It is difficult to recognize fresh present wakefulness because our basic nature is not an object of thought.
